In 1992, David Miller was contacted to meet with producers at Lorne Michaels office at Paramount Studios to discuss doing the makeup for their upcoming film, "Coneheads". "I was pretty excited because I had been watching Saturday Night Live since the first show in 1975 and was a big fan", says Miller. "I was also enthusiastic because I knew that Dan Aykroyd would be starring in it and I always had a great time working with him on previous projects", added Miller. Miller hadn't realized the scope of the film until he met with the director. "I thought there would be 3 characters to do for the film, not knowing that at the end of the film they were planning on visiting the Conehead planet", says Miller. He and his crew of approximately 60 people spent the next several months creating over 900 Cone prosthetics, 200 latex Conehead masks (background, see above), and several other effects for the film. At the time it was the largest makeup film in decades. An entire soundstage at Paramount's back lot had to be set up to accommodate the makeup crew.
